Materials
- Worsted weight yarn: White (100 yds), Black (20 yds for stitching), Lime Green (optional, for toxic slime effect)
- Size H/5.0mm crochet hook
- Glow-in-the-dark yarn (optional, for extra creep factor)
- Yarn needle, scissors
Step-by-Step
The Front Panel
- With white: Ch 20.
- Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch and across. (19 sts)
- Rows 2–8: Ch 1, turn. Sc across.
- Leg openings: Row 9: Ch 1, turn. Dec 1 st each side. (17 sts)
- Rows 10–14: Continue sc, decreasing 1 st each side every row until 7 sts remain.
- Fasten off.
The Back Panel
- Work identical to front panel but make it 2 rows shorter.
Assembly
- Seam the side edges together, leaving leg holes.
- Waistband: Reattach yarn at top edge, work sc around the entire top opening for 3 rounds.
- Creepy details: With black yarn, stitch “spider web” lines, a small skull, or dripping slime patterns. Use glow-in-the-dark yarn for stitches that light up at night.
- Make a tiny clothes hanger from wire or crochet a loop at the waistband for hanging.
Display idea: string a mini clothesline across your Halloween mantel and hang this alongside tiny crochet socks and a mini witch hat.
