- Size H/5.0mm crochet hook
- Mason jar (16 oz regular mouth)
- Yarn needle, scissors
Step-by-Step
The Jar Cozy
- Measure your jar circumference (approx 10 inches for a standard 16 oz jar).
- Foundation chain: Ch enough to wrap around the jar snugly (approx 32 ch for 16 oz jar).
- Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch and across. (31 sts)
- Rows 2–3: Ch 1, turn. Sc across. Switch to next color.
- Color sequence: Yellow (4 rows), Orange (2 rows), Red (4 rows), Green (2 rows), Blue (4 rows).
- Top black band: With black, work 3 rows of sc.
- Fasten off, seam the short edges together to form a tube.
The Crayon Tip Appliqué
- With black, ch 6. Sc across for 4 rows. Fasten off.
- With your choice of crayon color, make a triangle: ch 6, sc in 2nd ch, hdc, dc, hdc, sc. (6 sts—adjust to form a triangle tip)
- Sew the triangle to one end of the black rectangle.
- Sew the entire crayon appliqué vertically onto the jar cozy.
